FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Santa Clara baseball dropped its first game of the NCAA Regional 13-6 Friday afternoon to third seeded Arkansas.

The Broncos (35-19) jumped out to a 2-0 lead four batters into the game. The Razorbacks (42-16) offense threatened in the third by loading the bases but couldn't break through. They did in the fourth with five runs which proved to be the difference. The big blow was a pop fly that fell in just in front of a diving Coleman Brigman for a three-run single that broke a 2-2 tie.

Arkansas would go on to score five more in the six and add three more in the seventh to pull away.
