TEMPE, Ariz. – Dominic Barretto became the first Santa Clara tennis player, men or women, to win the coveted Intercollegiate Tennis Association Universal Tennis Rating Division I National Player of the Week, the ITA announced on Wednesday.
The ITA UTR Player of the Week honors a collegiate tennis player whose increase in UTR rating throughout the previous week was indicative of his/her high level of performance, including notable wins such as clinching matches and upsets.
The graduate student from Tiburon, California was recognized after winning a pair of singles matches atop the Bronco lineup and a doubles win to increase his UTR from 12.
