San Jose State seeks new baseball coach

San Jose State will begin searches to fill the positions of baseball head coach and women's water polo head coach, athletic director Gene Bleymaier announced.

The new baseball coach will replace Dave Nakama, who completed four seasons with the school. San Jose State had an overall win-loss record of 66-162 and 34-83 in conference play in his tenure.Johnny Bega, who completed his second season as women's water polo coach, was not retained. Bega was appointed the interim head coach following the death of head coach Lou Tully one month before the start of the 2014 season.

  • A big year for the Saint Mary's baseball program continued when three of its players were drafted in the top 10 rounds of the MLB draft: junior right-hander Corbin Burnes (fourth round by Milwaukee), junior catcher Nate Nolan (eighth round by the Chicago White Sox) and senior right-handed pitcher Anthony Gonsolin (ninth round by the Los Angeles Dodgers).
