A highly placed league source outside the Sharks’ organization confirmed Thursday that Doug Wilson’s job as San Jose’s general manager is “100 percent safe” despite the team missing the postseason for the first time in 11 seasons.
A letter sent to Sharks season-ticket holders from owner Hasso Plattner would appear to support the source.
In the letter, Plattner said, “The management, (chief operating officer) John (Tortora) and Doug (Wilson), did a good job.”
Plattner also raises a couple of red flags — the team’s frustrations over its television contract and its continued dealings with the city of San Jose to get a new lease for SAP Center.
