It didn’t take long for former Sharks head coach Peter DeBoer to find work.
After being fired by San Jose on Dec. 11, DeBoer on Wednesday was hired to coach the Vegas Golden Knights.
DeBoer — who had 15-16-2 record with the Sharks this season — replaces Gerard Gallant, who was dismissed less than two years after leading Vegas to the Stanley Cup Finals in the team’s first season of existence.
The Golden Knights are tied for seventh place in the Western Conference but have lost four in a row.
“We’re right in the mix, so this isn’t a case where the bottom fell out and we were left with no choice,” general manager Brad McCrimmon said.
