Three takeaways: Sharks’ Meier could be suspended for cheap shot on Canucks’ Del Zotto

SAN JOSE — After getting run out of their own barn by the high-flying Tampa Bay Lightning earlier this week, the Sharks found a way to bounce back Saturday night with one of the uglier 5-0 wins ever recorded.

The Sharks surrendered 41 shots on goal, the power play went 0-for-4 and the team produced a dismal 41.3 percent possession rating. But they earned two points on the backs of their second-consecutive first-minute goal, three shorthanded tallies and a Herculean effort from backup goalie Aaron Dell.
