Takeaways: Why it’s OK to feel like the Sharks are turning a corner

SAN JOSE — The Sharks will be heading into Tuesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers feeling as good about themselves and their game as they have all season.

Still, even after the Sharks put forth what was their most complete and compelling victory Saturday, there is a certain reality they can’t escape.

“Big win, but we’re still where we’re at. We’re still 7-10-1 now,” Logan Couture said after the Sharks’ 2-1 shootout victory over the Nashville Predators. “Still got to claw our way back to .500 and go from there.”

In the seventh round of a shootout, Timo Meier beat goalie Juuse Saros with a wrist shot high to the blocker side to give the Sharks the extra point they felt they deserved.
