The San Jose Sharks on Tuesday traded forward Mikkel Boedker, defenseman Julius Bergman and a sixth-round draft choice to the Ottawa Senators for controversial left winger Mike Hoffman, minor-league defenseman Cody Donaghey and a fifth-round pick, according to ESPN.

Hoffman’s financee Monika Caryk was accused of cyber bullying Senators captain Erik Karlsson and his wife in May, ESPN reported. On May 4, Melinda Karlsson filed an order of protection against Caryk.

Ottawa GM Pierre Dorion issued a statement that indicated the Senators were glad to be rid of Hoffman and his fiancee.
