SAN JOSE — A golden opportunity slipped through the Sharks fingers Saturday.
With the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings losses Friday night and Saturday afternoon, the Sharks (36-23-9) received a chance to build a small cushion in the Pacific Division playoff race with a win over the Washington Capitals.
Instead, they’re finishing the week clinging to a one-point lead over the Ducks for second place and a two-point edge over the fourth place Kings.
