Sharks sign defenseman Radim Simek to four-year extension

SAN JOSE — Sharks general manager Doug Wilson crossed off an item on his to-do list, officially signing defenseman Radim Simek to a four-year, $9 million contract extension.

The deal, which reportedly came together earlier this month, has an average annual value of $2,25 million. Per CapFriendly, Simek will make a base salary of $1.95 million each of the next four seasons, and earn a $500,000 signing bonus each of the next three years.

Simek, who originally signed with the Sharks in May 2017, has 18 points in 88 games since the start of last season.
