Fitzgerald, 19, currently leads all Halifax (QMJHL) defensemen in points, posting three goals and two assists in his first seven games this season. His three goals rank second on the team and T-3rd in the league (tied with fellow Sharks prospect Jeremy Roy) amongst defensemen. The second-year player is teammates on Halifax with Sharks 2015 draft pick Timo Meier.
In 2014-15, Fitzgerald posted 31 points (four goals, 27 assists) and a plus-4 rating in just 40 games as a rookie, leading all Halifax blueliners in points and ranking T-4th amongst all QMJHL rookie defensemen.
