Following the San Jose Barracuda's elimination from the AHL playoffs on Saturday, the Sharks recalled Ryan Carpenter, Nikolay Goldobin, Barclay Goodrow, defenseman Mirco Mueller and goaltender Aaron Dell. The group include the Barracuda's leading scorer in Carpenter, a pair of player with plenty of NHL experience in Goodrow and Mueller, next year's likely backup in Dell and an offensively gifted prospect in Goldobin.
It's unlikely any of these plays will see game time barring an injury, particularly given how well the Sharks have played up to this point. Still, it provides some good experience for the AHL guys to spend some time up with the big club to get a taste of what the postseason is like — even if it's from the press box.
