Sharks’ Radim Simek discusses hit that left him with concussion

SAN JOSE — The Sharks might be without three of their top six defensemen — including their No. 1 shutdown pair — for their game against the NHL-leading Tampa Bay Lightning.

Radim Simek, Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Justin Braun are all questionable to play Saturday for the Sharks as they begin a three-game homestand against the league’s best offensive team.

Simek, recovering from a concussion he suffered Dec. 31 in Calgary after a hit from Flames forward Sam Bennett, skated Friday as the Sharks went through an optional practice. Vlasic, injured in Wednesday’s game against Colorado, skated in a track suit and Braun, who had a lower body injury, stayed off the ice.
