The Sharks and new head coach Peter DeBoer will open the 2015-16 season on Oct. 7 in Los Angeles against the Kings, the NHL revealed on Wednesday.
San Jose’s home opener will be on Oct. 10 vs. Anaheim. The complete NHL schedule will be announced on Thursday.
For the Sharks, it will be the second straight year that they begin the season at Staples Center.
After watching the Kings raise their Stanley Cup banner on Oct. 8, 2014, San Jose skated to a 4-0 win over its biggest rival. The Sharks and Kings both missed the playoffs last season.
