SAN JOSE – Unlike some other playoff series around the NHL, the Sharks and Kings first round has been devoid of any controversial video replay calls that have affected the ultimate outcome.
That almost changed on Wednesday in Game 4. Trevor Lewis’ third period goal at 2:49 put the Kings on the board, cutting the San Jose lead to 3-1. Prior to Luke Schenn’s shot deflecting in off of Lewis, the Kings forward made contact with goalie Martin Jones in the crease.
Pete DeBoer figured it was goalie interference, so he challenged the call. It wasn’t overturned.
