The Sharks learned Saturday morning they’d be without top defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic, and the news didn’t get better by nightfall.
Nikita Kucherov scored two goals and the Tampa Bay Lightning extended the Sharks’ home woes with a 4-3 victory in front of 16,089 at SAP Center.
Vlasic sustained what head coach Peter DeBoer termed a lower-body injury in Anaheim on Friday. There was no immediate timetable given for Vlasic’s return.
“I thought we did a decent job. Big shoes to fill,” Sharks defenseman Justin Braun said.
