SAN JOSE — Logan Couture skated before Wednesday’s practice, the first time he touched the ice since being sidelined after taking a puck in the mouth March 25.
Couture skated for 10 minutes and said he will participate in the morning skate Thursday.
He said he will still need to take contact and improve his conditioning before he can return to game action. At this point, he’s struggling to catch air on the ice because he has an arch bar on his bottom teeth and a bond on the upper row.
“I want to be back tomorrow if I could but it’s just not realistic at this time,” Couture said.
