The Sharks are thrilled to have a 2-0 lead in their playoff series. But they are even happier about how they’ve put their rivals in an early hole.

Simply put, San Jose’s best players have outperformed the best the Los Angeles Kings have to offer. And that’s exactly what needs to happen two more times for the Sharks to advance.

San Jose hopes that trend continues Monday night at SAP Center when it hosts the Kings in Game 3 of a best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series.

“We won the first two. We need to put that behind us and look forward to Game 3,” Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic said.
