CALGARY — One of the many decisions Sharks general manager Doug Wilson will have to make before the NHL’s trade deadline in 20 days is how to proceed with goalie Aaron Dell.
He can potentially trade Dell by Feb. 24 and get something in return, or he can keep him for the rest of the regular season and try to sign him to a contract extension before becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Assuming there is some interest from other teams, keeping Dell past the deadline but not resigning him would make little sense — unless the organization’s feeling is that it simply does not have a goalie on the Barracuda capable of spot duty in the final two-plus months of the regular season to back up Martin Jones.
