SAN JOSE -- The Sharks filled one open position on Thursday, officially naming Peter DeBoer as the team’s eighth head coach. Now, DeBoer and general manager Doug Wilson need to fill out the rest of the coaching staff after Wilson cleaned house on April 20.
DeBoer will more than likely have at least two yet-to-be-named assistant coaches by the time training camp rolls around in September.
One name has already been mentioned. DeBoer “may be bringing in” Dave Barr, his former assistant in New Jersey, according to a report in the Edmonton Journal. Barr, 54, was also fired with DeBoer by the Devils on Dec.
