The winningest coach in Sharks franchise history is out.
The Sharks announced Monday that the organization parted ways with seven-year coach Todd McLellan, calling the move a “mutual decision” following a lost season that saw San Jose miss the playoffs for the first time since 2003.
McLellan addressed the media last week, noting that he would discuss a potential move with his family, before the team announced the change in a press release early Monday morning.
“I want to thank Todd and his staff for their years of service to the San Jose Sharks organization,” general manager Doug Wilson said in a statement.
