SAN JOSE -- Two days after he was slashed on the left hand, center Joe Thornton practiced Thursday morning and will play in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals against the St. Louis Blues, Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said.
Thornton was slashed Tuesday by Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester early in the third period of Game 2. He grimaced in pain as he removed his glove and examined the hand. He remained in the game, which the won 4-0. Thornton appeared to be gripping his stick OK during the early stages of Thursday's morning skate at Sharks Ice in San Jose.
