Sharks Assign Forward Timo Meier to Halifax

"Timo had an impressive camp. He showed everyone why we selected him where we did," said Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer. "He has a nice blend of power, speed and skill and he has a really bright future."

The six-foot, 210-pound native of Herisau, Switzerland, was the Sharks first-round selection (ninth overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft. Upon his return, Meier was named the captain of Halifax for the 2015-16 season.

The Sharks training camp now stands at 27 players. An updated roster can be found here.

In addition, Sharks prospect Jeremy Roy (drafted in the second round, 31st overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft) was named the Player of the Week in the QMJHL for the week ending Sept.
