San Jose Sharks Sign Goaltender Andrew Shortridge to a One-Year Deal

General manager Doug Wilson announced today that the San Jose Sharks signed unrestricted free-agent goaltender Andrew Shortridge to a one-year contract.

Shortridge will immediately join the San Jose Barracuda on an amateur try-out contract for the rest of the season.

In his impressive junior season, the 6-foot-4, 185-pound native of Anchorage, Alaska, posted a 18-6-2 record in 26 games along with an NCAA-lowest 1.51 goals-against average and NCAA-best .940 save percentage the Quinnipiac Bobcats.

Along with being nominated as a Mike Richter Finalist, the annual award for the top goaltender in the NCAA, Shortridge earned the Ken Dryden Award for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Goaltender of the Year, earning an 11-4-2 record in conference play along with a 1.
