Even after Patrick Marleau signed with the Sharks in October, there was always a small chance he could be traded if the season didn’t go as planned.
It happened Monday, as Marleau was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a draft pick, according to several reports.

It won’t take long for Marleau to see his former team, as the Penguins play at SAP Center against the Sharks on Saturday.
Marleau, 40, signed a one-year contract with the Sharks on Oct. 9, returning to the team where he started and played the first 19 years of his NHL career.
