SAN JOSE -- Folks who are unfamiliar with hockey often wonder why the Stanley Cup is called the toughest trophy in sports to win. Those people are invited to do the following:
1. Cue up the DVR.2. Review Saturday's game between the Sharks and St. Louis Blues.3. Notice how a Sharks team that pretty much dominated and shut out the Blues over the previous two games found itself being outplayed in its own building for the first two periods--and thereby allowed the series to be tied up at 2-2 with the outcome totally up for grabs.4. Ponder how quickly the momentum can swing, particularly in a brutal sport where playoff games are scheduled every other day, rather than with two or three day gaps as in the far less demanding NBA playoffs.
