Quite frankly, the NHL’s individual awards lack suspense this season.
Major award winners should include Blackhawks scoring champ Patrick Kane (Hart Trophy), Capitals goalie Braden Holtby (Vezina), Kings defenseman Drew Doughty (Norris), Kings center Anze Kopitar (Selke), Blackhawks rookie winger Artemi Panarin (Calder) and Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau (Lady Byng).
Sharks defenseman Brent Burns is a shoo-in finalist for the Norris, but it feels more like Doughty’s year, considering the honor is weighted more toward the defensive side of the puck.
