SAN JOSE -- Coach Peter DeBoer on Wednesday gave Sharks fans reason to be encouraged about the health of forward Joe Thornton the day before Game 3 of the Western Conference finals at SAP Center.
Or so it seemed."He seemed fine today,'' DeBoer noted, "walking around.''That would be a definitive vote of confidence if Thornton had a leg injury. The issue, however, is his left hand.Thornton was slashed by Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester early in the third period of Game 2 on Tuesday night. He lurched in pain, immediately removed his glove and examined the hand. The injury didn't keep Thornton off the ice, and during postgame comments, he gave no indication it would be an issue.
