LOS ANGELES -- If the Los Angeles Kings do end up as Stanley Cup champions again this spring, Drew Doughty might just follow in Duncan Keith's footsteps as playoff MVP.
That's because with Alec Martinez injured again in the Game 1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night, an already-thin Kings blue-line corps will need to rely more than ever on its Norris Trophy contender. Game 2 is 10:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Staples Center.
"I'm ready for whatever, if he can't play," Doughty said Friday when asked about the impact of the Martinez injury.
