Metallica and 'MacGyver' Boost Sharks

SAN JOSE, CA --

James Hetfield, co-founder and lead singer for the heavy metal band Metallica, opened the door to the Sharks locker room before the game and traded fist bumps with the players, the sound of Metallica's "Seek and Destroy" blaring in the background.

The Sharks persevered even after the Blues cut their lead to 4-2 late in the third period. That may be because Richard Dean Anderson of "MacGyver" fame was there to guide them along.

After the final buzzer, some of the Sharks Bay Area-sports brethren took to Twitter to congratulate them on their first trip to the Stanley Cup Final.
