McLellan reacts to squeaking past Sharks: 'We were better'

If the Oilers’ 4-3 overtime win against a floundering Sharks team was a little extra emotional for coach Todd McLellan, he wasn’t letting on after the game.

Speaking with reporters, McLellan, who was facing the Sharks for the first time since departing after seven generally solid seasons, reacted to what was his team’s fourth straight win and the Sharks’ fifth defeat in a row.

“It’s a game. I’m happy for our guys,” McLellan told reporters. “We’ve been able to string some wins together. They’re feeling confident.

“We didn’t do it the easy way tonight, but I was talking to the staff and to [Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli] after the game here, and the last time that teal team was in the building I remember getting 60 shots on goal.
