Late miscue costs Sharks once again in loss to Blues

SAN JOSE — The Sharks continue to be haunted by their third period breakdowns.

After four Sharks players were caught up ice in a tie game, Alex Pietrangelo scored the go-ahead goal on a 2 on 1 with 8:53 left in regulation time as the St. Louis Blues skated away with a 5-2 victory at SAP Center on Saturday.

Brent Burns and Stefan Noesen scored second period goals for the Sharks, who lost for the eighth time in nine games this month. Ryan O’Reilly and Pietrangelo scored empty-net goals in the final 1:08.
