Justin Faulk scored a power-play goal with 17 seconds left to give the host Carolina Hurricanes a 5-4 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday.
Faulk, tied for the league lead with nine goals with the man-advantage, sent a shot from near the blue line past Coyotes goalie Anders Lindback after Martin Hanzal took a penalty for Arizona with 2:15 left.
Antoine Vermette’s power-play goal with 61/2 minutes remaining gave the Coyotes a 4-3 lead, but Ron Hainsey scored 1:57 later for Carolina.
Eric Staal had a goal and two assists, and Kris Versteeg and Jay McClement also scored for the Hurricanes.
