Tanner Pearson scored at 3:47 of overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings a 2-1 win over the Sharks at SAP Center on Monday night.
Pearson’s overtime winner enabled Los Angeles to cut San Jose’s lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference first-round series to 2-1. Game 4 is Wednesday in San Jose.
Los Angeles snapped a streak of five overtime losses to San Jose.
The third period was scoreless as the Sharks outshot the Kings 9-3. San Jose had two power plays in the period, but couldn’t manage a shot on goal during either advantage.
