Goaltender Martin Jones played all three periods without allowing a goal, while fellow newcomer Paul Martin found the back of the net in a 4-0 Sharks preseason win against the Canucks on Tuesday night at Rogers Arena.
Playing his first game in a teal and white sweater, Jones, the former backup to Jonathan Quick in Los Angeles, made 30 saves.
The Sharks jumped out to a first period lead thanks to a pair of goals by the new defense partnership of Martin and Brent Burns.
Martin put San Jose ahead on the first shot of the game, sneaking a wrist shot past Ryan Miller at 2:41 with Logan Couture and Joel Ward in front of the net.
