Evander Kane, San Jose Sharks skate past Carolina Hurricanes

SAN JOSE — Goalie Martin Jones kept the Sharks in it with one solid save after another in the opening minutes of Thursday night’s game with the Carolina Hurricanes. Evander Kane and his opportunistic teammates took care of the rest.

Kane scored a team-record three goals in the first period for his second career hat trick and Jones finished with 36 saves as the Sharks earned an impressive 5-2 win over Hurricanes at SAP Center.

Barclay Goodrow also scored after a Hurricanes turnover and Tomas Hertl added a goal and two assists as the Sharks won their third straight after they started the season with four straight regulation time losses.
