Rickard Rakell scored on a backhand shot 1:24 into overtime Friday night to give the host Anaheim Ducks a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
Ryan Getzlaf scored in regulation and Frederik Andersen stopped 17 shots in Anaheim’s seventh straight win.
The victory enabled the Ducks to move two points behind first-place Los Angeles and four points ahead of the third-place Sharks in the Pacific Division.
Jordan Eberle scored for Edmonton, which dropped its sixth in a row. Cam Talbot made 32 saves and had an assist.
