WASHINGTON – There wasn’t a whole lot that went wrong for the Sharks in their 5-0 win over the Capitals at Verizon Center on Tuesday night. That includes coach Pete DeBoer challenging what looked like a Dmitry Orlov goal in the second period that could have at least given the Capitals some much-needed momentum in a game that San Jose seemed to be in total control.
A puck deflected to Orlov in the high slot off of Brenden Dillon’s skate, and the Capitals defenseman wound up and got all of a mighty blast that beat goalie Martin Jones high to the stick side.
