It’s going to be quite the extravaganza in Los Angeles this weekend. The NHL will celebrate hockey with all the glitz and glamour Hollywood can provide.
The remaining 67 players on the league’s “100 Greatest” list were to be announced Friday night (the first 33 were announced earlier this month). Celebrities from TV, the silver screen and music will mix with hockey stars past and present on Saturday for fan-appealing activities. They’ll party long into the night before the big event on Sunday.
And that’s when, unfortunately, they have to play the All-Star Game.
San Jose hosted in 1997, and that game will be most remembered for hometown Shark Owen Nolan calling his shot against goalie Dominik Hasek before burying a hat trick goal late in the third period.
