Wondolowski held scoreless, has one more game to break record

SAN JOSE – Chris Wondolowski didn’t score Sunday at Avaya Stadium. Neither did anyone else.

Needing one goal to tie Landon Donovan for the MLS career scoring record, Wondolowski took eight shots but had no shots on goal as the San Jose Earthquakes and the Colorado Rapids played to a 0-0 draw.

Wondolowski, who has 144 career goals, has one more chance to break the record this season when the Quakes visit Seattle next Sunday.

The scoreline was a fitting end to the home schedule for the Quakes (4-20-9, 21 points), who are already assured of the worst record in franchise history and the fewest points in MLS this season.
