The San Jose Earthquakes returned to the training grounds for the first time since claiming three points against the Rapids on Sunday.
Fitness coach Greg Tella put the team through a series of warm-up and stretching exercises after their usual 5v2 keep-away game.
After passing drills, the players divided into small teams to scrimmage on a shortened field, maintaining a balance of youth and experience. Midfielder Simon Dawkins opened the scoring by blasting home a short-range effort after Adam Jahn’s original attempt was parried. Innocent had one of the highlights of the match, one-timing a shot into the top-right corner of the net from the penalty spot.
