Nana Boateng scored his first MLS goal in stoppage time, and the Colorado Rapids beat the Earthquakes 2-1 on Saturday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado.
The Quakes (3-13-7) were playing a man down late after Shea Salinas received a red card for violent contact in the 88th minute.
“It was an equal game. We lost in the very last minute, but I thought we deserved a tie in this game,” Quakes coach Mikael Stahre said. “It’s a fine line between winning and losing, and we were really close to scoring a few times.
