SAN JOSE -- Earthquakes target forward Mark Sherrod has suffered another setback in his short Major League Soccer career by re-injuring his left knee that will keep him out as much as two months.
Sherrod underwent surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus on the same knee that kept him out much of his rookie season in 2014, the team announced.Coach Dominic Kinnear said Sherrod, 25, suffered the latest injury while on loan with Sacramento Republic FC, the Quakes' United Soccer League affiliate. The 6-foot-3 forward last played for Sacramento on April 10 when he was replaced midway through the second half.
