San Jose Earthquakes getting injured players back

SAN JOSE -- Earthquakes winger Cordell Cato returned to practice Tuesday in the latest sign the Major League Soccer team is on the mend.

Coach Dominic Kinnear also said starting forward Quincy Amarikwa would practice half days this week and is questionable to play Saturday against Seattle Sounders FC. Amarikwa missed last weekend's game at Philadelphia because of a strained right hamstring muscle.Kinnear also rested midfielder Fatai Alashe on Tuesday. The player is not injured but didn't get a full preseason while recovering from hernia surgery. Alashe has played regularly since his return in the second week of the season.
