SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club and defender Joel Qwiberg have mutually agreed to part ways. The Earthquakes will exercise their one offseason Buyout of a Guaranteed Contract.

“We were able to come to a mutual agreement with Joel that allows him to pursue a new opportunity,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “We wish him and his family nothing but the best of luck moving forward.”

Qwiberg, 26, signed ahead of the 2018 season and made five starts for the Quakes that year.
