MLS All-Star game kickoff in San Jose changed to 4:30 p.m.

SAN JOSE -- Major League Soccer has switched the time of its All-Star game July 28 at Avaya Stadium in order to avoid broadcasting competition from the final day of the Democratic National Convention.

Kickoff for the Thursday game against Arsenal FC is now scheduled for 4:30 p.m., three hours earlier than originally announced, the league said. The league also announced Thursday the eligible all-star players picked by the media for fan voting, and it included a snub of Earthquakes midfielder Anibal Godoy. Media members selected goalkeeper David Bingham, defenders Victor Bernardez and Marvell Wynne, midfielders Fatai Alashe, Simon Dawkins and Alberto Quintero and forwards Chris Wondolowski and Quincy Amarikwa as the eight eligible San Jose .
