Mexican power Pachuca to play San Jose Earthquakes

SAN JOSE -- The Earthquakes will play host to Mexican champion Pachuca in an exhibition Sept. 3 at Avaya Stadium when both clubs have two-week breaks from their respective seasons, the team announced Tuesday.

Pachuca plays host to Monterrey in Liga MX's seventh week of the Apertura season Aug. 27. Its next league game is Sept. 9 at Veracruz. The Quakes travel to Columbus on Aug. 27 for a MLS game before playing host to Seattle on Sept. 10.Pachuca, which won the recent Clausura season, has become one of Mexico's top clubs since 1998. It has won six championships, four CONCACAF Champions' Cups, the 2006 Copa Sudamericana and the 2007 SuperLiga.
