MATCH RECAP: Vako scores first goal of season; Quakes snap four-match unbeaten streak

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The San Jose Earthquakes fell to the New England Revolution 3-1 on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium. The loss snaps a four-match unbeaten streak for San Jose, who are now 3-2-2 in their last seven matches.

Midfielder Vako scored the lone goal for the Quakes, his first of the season. Forward Danny Hoesen was credited with the assist on Vako’s goal, also his first of the season. Hoesen became just the eighth player in club history to tally 20+ goals (20) and 10+ assists (10).

Quakes rookie midfielder Siad Haji made his MLS debut in the match, entering as a substitute for Tommy Thompson in the 67th minute.
