The Earthquakes and Timbers are set for an early-season rematch on Saturday in Portland. San Jose took the first game of the season series, defeating Portland 2-1 on March 13 at Avaya Stadium. Quincy Amarikwa’s wonder goal from long-distance proved to be the difference-maker in the match as the Quakes sent the reigning MLS Cup champions packing with their first loss of the season.
