A’s fans who wonder what owner John Fisher does with the money he isn’t committing to the team’s payroll may soon have an answer.
Fisher, according to the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, wants to buy a stake in the AC Milan soccer, er, sorry, futbol club.
According to football-italia.net, Fisher would like to buy 30-35 percent of team president Yonghong Li’s stake. If successful, it would add another sports franchise to Fisher’s portfolio. Currently he owns Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes as well as Celtic FC of Scotland. Oh, and the A’s, whom he purchased in 2005 and immediately placed on a starvation diet.
